“The Las Conchas Fire”
This is a short (8 min TRT) film about the historic Las Conchas fire which occurred in the Jemez Mountains of NM in 2011. It was produced for a major outdoor magazine’s digital platform and addresses the impact of the fire on the animals, sportsmen and forest users.
The film was written, produced, photographed and narrated by Jay Eschenberg, who also composed the musical score.
“Petanque”
This is a short piece done in 2013 as a feature “package” for local television news. It outlines a unique game being played throughout the US and which is gaining popularity in New Mexico. It was produced, photographed and edited by Jay Eschenberg.
“Hindenburg”
This piece began as an (2020) experiment with a silent, public domain newsreel clip from 1937. I composed the music in a period style, researched, wrote and voiced the narration and added sound design to give the clip life. (The video (film) was not edited and represents the original piece as discovered in the archives.)
“Pablo, Jerry, Hercules and Red.”
This is a low-resolution, draft copy of a human-interest piece produced, photographed and with music composed by, Jay Eschenberg in 2014. It features the story of Paul Gutierrez, a homeless man living in Old Town San Diego. The high resolution original was lost in a computer and software failure which, unfortunately, left this draft version as the only available copy. It is included here because I believe it important to recognize Paul’s daily struggles and the difficulties facing all others who are living in similar situations.
“The Center for Wooden Boats”
This piece was produced as a multimedia travel article about The Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle. It was produced by Jay Eschenberg in 2013 who is responsible for the concept, writing, photography, audio production, voice-over and editing. Additional stock and library images were furnished by TCWB and other sources and were included with permission.

“The Secret of Don Diego” was a (holiday season) treasure hunt contest developed by Jay Eschenberg to correspond to the debut of the Redio, low-power radio station located in Old Town Albuquerque, a primary tourism site. The contest involved a ring hidden within the confines of the Old Town area that when found using clues broadcast on the radio system over a thirty day period, would reward the finder with a $1200.00 shopping spree in the Old Town merchant shops.
The promo below details the (fictional) back-story for the promotion. It was written, produced and voiced by Jay Eschenberg.

Sixty-Second Fieldtrip is a short-form radio series developed, written, produced and voiced by Jay Eschenberg and is intended for syndication. These first episodes, all related to significant attractions and activities in New Mexico, were distributed to more than 70 radio stations statewide and were enthusiastically and positively received and reviewed.
The format for the segments below is two-part. The first part (marked “Open”) is a short introduction to each episode and each “open” ends with the ticking watch SFX.
